The Stoughton Area Resource Team, Inc. (START) provides a safety net for those in crisis. Recently, a 30-year old single father of two struggled to find work, to pay for daycare for his children and to secure a home; so much time was spent homeless and hopeless.

Stoughton Alano 77 Club- Exterior Painting Project - 2024 Amount Funded: $3,000.00
As to the timeline (which we have already accomplished) includes: contacting community businesses’ for donations, funding from grants and foundations, in-house “passing the basket” for contributions, bake sales and garage sales. A future event that has been discussed is a “silent auction among others! At this time the goal of $15,000 has not been reached.
Our facility is a two-story that was built in the early 1900s and is across the street (900 Giles) from the Stoughton Hospital and is a house in the Landmark Southern Historical section of Stoughton. Over the years we have responded to improvements ie. new roof, handicap-accessible bathroom and ramp. At this time it is in dire need of repair and painting of the exterior! It needs safe environmental removal of lead-based paint, repair and calk cracks and holes, remove window shades and dispose of, power-wash, scrape, prime and paint the whole structure to name a few! The trim, gutters and doors need similar attention. These repairs and improvements are also directed at the garage and ramp. There are a number of objectives to this project. One, is of course the necessity to prevent further building issues, and two, this refreshed facility will convey and welcome new individuals to join and create opportunities for the residents of Stoughton to become aware of and knowledgeable of the services that the 12-step meetings provide. It also provides an open door for those families, friends and the general Stoughton community in seeking support and help through meetings. And the final objective is with the Stoughton Hospital and its large expansive addition. Awareness and information of the Stoughton Alano will convey a new source of support for those seeking help and for the future generations.
