The Stoughton Area Resource Team, Inc. (START) provides a safety net for those in crisis. Recently, a 30-year old single father of two struggled to find work, to pay for daycare for his children and to secure a home; so much time was spent homeless and hopeless.

Our program primarily operates early December with an annual giving event. However, we do occasionally assist families throughout the year. We believe everyone should have a joyous holiday season and the work we do directly impacts families right here in Stoughton!
We match generous donors with families in need in these communities to provide gifts for the children in order to make the holidays more joyous for all. We typically help 300+ families per season and are on target for that number again this year. All of the board members and volunteers are unpaid. Any money donated goes directly to support the families in need and a small amount goes towards operating costs such as mailing and website fees. Funds are used to purchase grocery/gas gift cards to add to the family gifts to further assist families during the holiday season. In addition to our holiday matching/giving, we occasionally assist families throughout the year with things like bike helmets and gas gift cards for parents to get to employment interviews.
